This town is flourished with lot of beautiful sculptural works. Mahabalipuram town is also said to be one of the flourishing ports during the pallava kings period as it was located at the coromandel cost facing Bay of Bengal. Mahabalipuram is also called as “open air museum” as there were many architectural marvel work were present. There are many magnificent sculptures and structures such as Arjuna’s Penance, Varsha Cave Temple, Shore Temple, Pancha Rathas and Thirukadalmallai. There werelot of artistic woks placed on the rocks. This town as produced lots of great poets, artists, saints and dramatists during the pallava dynasty. There were also other places in Mahabalipuram such as crocodile bank and covelong.
